5 Interesting Things You Didn’t Know About Warcraft

1. AT&T is involved
As it turns out, World of Warcraft is operated from AT&T data centers world-wide! Some of these places include Stockholm, Sweden and Paris, France!
2. Yes, Mila Kunis likes Warcraft
Lots of celebrities are World of Warcraft fanatics! Some of these individuals include Mila Kunis, Vin Diesel, Hugh Laurie (for all of you House fans out there), and Cameron Diaz.
3. Warcraft has recently gotten political
Maine Democratic senatorial candidate Colleen Lachowicz was controversially known for being an extremely dedicated member of Azeroth. She plays as a level 85 Orc Assassin Rogue, and many questioned if her various blogs concerning Warcraft and open love of the game would hurt her chances for the senate. However, she defeated incumbent Tom Martin in the 2012 senate race! Apparently, Warcraft isn’t just a training ground for future CEOs, but also senators!
Even the current political election is finding its way into Warcraft. Just the other night, I witnessed a heated Jeb vs. Hillary argument occurring on chat, showing that Warcraft can be a place to voice your political opinions as well as kill monsters.
4. Azeroth is a lot bigger than you think.
At the height of its popularity, it’s estimated that the total player population in World of Warcraft was roughly 10-12 million. This is equivalent to the size of:
-Czech Republic
5. Silence of the Horde?
Warcraft can take on a narrative more like Silence of the Lambs at times, with the Undead race having the ability to eat their victims and regain health. So, yes, cannibalism is possible in Azeroth.

Hope you enjoyed these fun facts I found as we wrap up Warcraft for the year!

These were fun and interesting to read! I particularly enjoyed number 4, it’s pretty crazy to think that a video game can have a player base as large as entire countries. I previously read somewhere that Mila Kunis played Warcraft as well, and at the time, I was surprised. After I have played it, however, I can understand why many people, celebrities included, enjoy the game!

Thanks for the sharing the fun facts!
I am surprised that big name celebrities play WoW. With all of the money and power that they have, they could do anything they wanted, I personally don’t see the appeal of the game that would attract celebrities to it. It just seems to me that there would be so many better things to do.

I think celebrities would enjoy it just as much as non-celebrities would. They finally have the chance to enter a world where people are not constantly trying to follow them around, take pictures, or sign autographs. They get the chance to meet real people through the game and make friends just like they would before they became famous. I think its pretty cool that we could have been walking right by them in Stormwind City and not even realized.
