Here’s an interesting story of a young boy saving himself and his sister using skills taught in WoW!
I actually saw this story the other day as well. This article very clearly shows that Warcraft draws upon non-fiction to create the fictitious world of Azeroth. That being said, I don’t think that means Warcraft teaches everyone life skills. To me, this is one kid who got lucky. I’d be curious to see if this happens more often. I doubt it.
@bagelbite13 Agreed! I saw the same story on a less credible site and it said the boy used “taunting” to first draw attention away from his sister and related it to a tactic in the game. I liked how the end of the article alluded to the stereotypes of video games and how a story such as this warrants giving the game more credit, much as we are doing in class.
